Magazine Brand Management Certificate
FIPP has re-branded its successful Magazine Management Certificate to reflect the international magazine publishing industry’s ever changing needs and technologies. The programme has been renamed the Magazine Brand Management Certificate (MBMC), to capture the essence of the changes more accurately.
FIPP created the Magazine Management Certificate in 2005. Over the six programmes almost 100 participants, from some 25 countries, have attended the course. The programme, sponsored by UPM has gone from strength to strength.
The programme has evolved from a course covering the requirements of the publisher who needs to learn and understand the skills set necessary to publish a magazine, to a course that covers the role of the publisher as brand manager. Participants will develop the skill set required to maximise their brand beyond the print product.
The all new MBMC will start in January 2011. The 18-day training programme will take place in London, spread over nine months between January and September 2011. Course leaders all have real experience in the industry. There will be graded homework assignments and an appraisal system, including course leader evaluations, as participants work towards the award of the Certificate.
More than 60 people have graduated from the FIPP Magazine Management Certificate. Participants have valued working in multi-company groups, and building a strong professional network with fellow participants and faculty.
